Summer's here, check out these cocktail recipes – from BCAAs!
As we all know, sugary soft drinks can increase your body fat. But anyone that doesn't like a nice and cold, refreshing, good-looking drink in the summer heat, please raise your arm! I thought so. We know how to do this without any sugars!
The cold days are long gone, and so are hot teas. It's time to order iced coffees again and drink more fluids. But did you know that in 2 dl of cola – which, to be honest, is not really much, but that's about what they give you in any restaurant – and its companions there are 22,4 grams of sugar?
Okay, let that sink in. That's about 90 calories which can easily turn into body fat, even if you are an athlete, and on those parts of your body where you would want fat the least. Of course nowadays artificially sweetened, non-sugary drinks are in fashion, but not everyone likes their unique taste, to say the least. What happens if you dislike these artificially sweetened drinks? You can drink the sugary ones, or just drink water. While water is fine, there are a lot better ways to reduce your thirst.
There is nothing wrong with the craving for tasty foods and drinks, but if you are a bodybuilder or just a regular athlete, then every food and drink should have functionality. The good news is that fruits are also in fashion right now, and you should capitalize on this. Do not drink only water, put some BCAAs, ice, and real fruits in your glass! There you go: functionality and taste, together. Here are some recipes.
1. Lime Margarita
Branched-Chain Amino Acids instead of alcohol, so you won't be spinning, your muscles will spin from the protein synthesis! Sounds great, but you just wait until you try it – it will be greater! Just shake the ingredients together in your shaker, pour the mixture into a good looking glass, and enjoy your sugar-free, healthy summer drink!
Ingredients: 3/4 portion of BCAA + Glutamine Xpress, 4 dl ice cold water, ice cubes, 2-3 teaspoons of salt, 2 tablespoons of lime juice
2. Kiwi-strawberry Miracle
We are going to list the ingredients, but the size of the portions are up to you. Just put the strawberries and kiwi into a nice glass after removing the unnecessary parts from them, then shake 1 serving of kiwi-lime flavoured BCAA Flash Zero with ice cold water and ice cubes. If the BCAA powder dissolved nicely, pour some carbonated water into the shaker and pour the whole thing onto the fruits in the glass. Cheers!
Ingredients: kiwis, strawberries, lime juice, carbonated and still water, ice cubes, BCAA Flash Zero
3. Raspberry-lime Mojito
Don't worry for a bit, this cocktail won't contain any alcohol neither. Wash the raspberries, put them together with mint leaves, put them into your favourite glass. Then prepare your BCAA Powder 4:1:1 in your shaker with ice cold water, pour the shake into the glass and lastly, put some ice cubes on top. Viola!
Ingredients: red fruit-flavoured BCAA Powder 4:1:1, ice cold water, ice cubes, mint leaves, lime juice, raspberries
